As the days and nights get colder, it can be too easy to escape (or stay) indoors. But Autumn is one of the best seasons to get out and about. We’ve compiled a list of things to try this Autumn, your Autumn bucket list, if you like.
Visit a lido

There is no feeling quite like hopping out of a warm body of water into the cold air. It’s simply exhilarating. But in a Lido, you get to be surrounded in glorious autumnal weather too. Some lidos close over the winter seasons, some will not be hot enough to go in without a wetsuit, so make the most of that perfect balance through October and swim outdoors!
Visit a woodlands or gardens

One of the best things about autumn is the changing leaves; the colours are so vivid, fiery even. It truly helps you to appreciate the beauty – and fragility of life. Go on a nature walk and spot all of these different colours and changes. If you have little ones, you could even turn it into a game – how many colours can you spot, the different types of leaves that have fallen to the ground etc.
Watch a sunset

Some of the best sunsets happen in Autumn. As the evenings draw in earlier, the sun hits the horizon in a way that it doesn’t at any other time of year; it blazes the sky in bright and vibrant hues. But why watch if from a window. Really see it for yourself: head to a hill or beach and just allow yourself the time and space to really appreciate it.
Pick your own pumpkin

Many adventure parks, attractions and farms have dedicated pumpkin patches that don’t interfere with other agricultural activities, where you can pick your own pumpkin for carving. But they’ll often put on much more than that; some tie it in with Halloween and create spooky walks and activities, others have carving stations where you can create your lantern there and then.
Have a bonfire

There is something so comforting about the smell of a bonfire (could be a fire pit) and how it lingers in your hair and on your clothes; of being wrapped up in a blanket, eating a hot S’more and a cup of warmed cider with loved ones. Make it a priority! Savour the feeling.
You may even catch a night sky spectacular!
