We know it’s not always possible to make it to the salon; cost and time are major factors in that. So incorporating an at home facial routine where you mimic the process and techniques they do in salon can save you on both of those fronts.

Step 1: Cleanse!

Firstly, use an eye-specific cleanser to remove traces of makeup- this is because the skin around the eye area is so delicate you don’t want to use a tough cleanser. We recommend the Lancome Bi-Facil which is suitable for waterproof mascara, sensitive skin and contact lens wearers We love the Guinot Hydra Tendre cleansing cream– it smells divine, removes all traces of makeup and leaves my skin clean and clear without traces of oil or drying it out! It’s also an amazing investment because you don’t need a lot but it gets you really far!

To use: Splash your face with warm water (this is how you open your pores to clean them), massage in circular motions around your face and either using the muslim cloths, cotton pads or Konjac Clay sponge remove the cleanser.

Step 2: Exfoliate

The Konjac sponge is a fantastic daily exfoliator- it’ll instantly leave your skin feeling softer and is so gentle you can even use it around your very delicate eye area. Sometimes though, we need something to push us that little further. I strongly recommend Harley Street Skin Clinic’s Microdermabrasion with crushed Diamonds exfoliator. This finely grained exfoliator will take it to a whole new level.  Use weekly to deeply unblock pores and remove dead skin cells. The diamonds will give you a luminous glow and you’ll notice instant improvement in your skin’s touch and texture. This product also benefits from anti-ageing glycolic and salicylic acids.

To use: massage, in circular motions from chin upwards, a pea amount of the exfoliator into your skin, focus in particular on your chin, cheeks, nose and forehead. Remove with warm water and finish with a splash of cold- pat your face dry

Tip: if you find you have an oily t-zone or you skin would benefit- use an alcohol-free toner to remove any excess oil

Step 3: Treatment

Daytime:

Avon Anew Clinical Infinite Lift Dual Eye System (bit of a mouthful) is by far the best day eye cream ever. Normally you’ll have a single functioning eye cream- this beauty in a pot looks after both the upper eyebrow area and under eye area. It uses caffeine to instantly refresh eyes, moisturising properties to hydrate and anti-ageing properties to keep you looking young. Combine this with the Vichy Aqualia Thermal light cream and you’ll be set for the day. The Vichy Aqualia Thermal light cream provides continuous hydration for up to 48 hours, providing you with comfort (with our without makeup) and protection against daily elements. With it’s hydrating properties this is a fabulous cream to work into the deeper layers of the skin- whether using a massage technique or the Sarah Chapman Facialift, you’ll want to work this into the deeper levels of your skin.

To use: using your ring finger pat the orange serum of the Avon Anew to the upper eye/brow area, ensure you take this to your temple. Using your ring finger again, pat the cream moisturiser to the under eye area including the socket. As for the Vichy Aqualia Thermal, dab 1 spot of the cream to your cheekbones  (both sides), chin and forehead working the product in an upwards motion.

Nighttime:

Kiehl’s chemists, in recognising the skin’s rejuvenation and healing phase kicks in during the night, have developed the Midnight Recovery Concentrate; a powerhouse blend of active botanical and essential oils to work overnight to replenish the skin’s appearance for a fresher and more radiant look by morning. Used continually and it’ll improve the skin’s texture and tone and aid in anti-ageing. The sweet blend of oils make for a relaxing treat that will ease you to sleep comfortably.

The eye area is the most delicate aspect of our skin- it needs something that’s tailor made. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery eye is just that- it can reduce puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles in just one night! Kiehl’s have literally created magic in a bottle- and everyone is raving about it (it’s won numerous awards- one is sold every minute worldwide) and now I’m a convert.

To use: using your ring finger on both hands squeeze two small drops of the Midnight Recovery Eye around the undereye area up to the eye socket- you’ll feel it instantly working, your eye begins to tighten almost immediately! As for the Midnight Recovery Concentrate– massage 2-3 drops into your skin working in an upward motion (see the DIY massage for details).

Step 4: Massage

Using the Sarah Chapman tool, push and roll the facialift from chin to ears (x 6) and cheek to ears (x6) allowing the wishbone to separate either side of your jaw. Follows this by pushing and rolling the facialift across your neck (x6). Finish by turning the facialift around and in using the flat side, tap across the face to plump and increase blood flow. Not only does it instantly give your face more definition, it’ll relax the muscles in your face. Using this tool and or a similar technique will also make the product work deeper into the different layers of skin ensuring all aspects of your face benefit from your product.

The products we recommend!
