For the most part, apples are usually used in dessert recipes. However, they’re a great accompaniment to pork (which I’m sure you already know). This week’s apple recipe is just that. Here is your recipe for creating a delicious apple sauce.
2 essential Waitrose British Pork Loin Steaks
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 eating apple, peeled, cored and sliced
1/4 x 25g pack fresh basil
1/4 tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- Preheat the grill to medium and cook the steaks for 22–24 minutes turning once, until cooked through. Transfer to a warm serving dish, drizzle with the balsamic vinegar and leave to rest for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the sauce: place the remaining ingredients in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Check
seasoning. Serve with the pork, mashed potato and steamed tenderstalk broccoli.
