With Christmas now well behind us and your summer break still a couple of months away, spring is a great opportunity to make some time for you and your partner. It’s so important to make sure that you make time for each other – here are just a few ways that you can make sure you’re taking every opportunity to do so!
Wherever you are and whatever you do, try and keep your smartphone usage to a minimum, and simply enjoy one another’s company!
Book a weekend away
A weekend away together is a great chance to not only spend some time together, but also to explore somewhere new, try new restaurants and visit new attractions. Vogue lists the top UK weekend breaks – whether you both love city nightlife, rural simplicity, or somewhere historic, the UK has plenty to offer!
You will also find that via booking sites that a couple of nights in either a hotel or bed and breakfast doesn’t need to be expensive, and when you have each other’s company you’re sure to enjoy wherever you end up!
Explore more of your local area
Trips don’t always have to be to a far flung destination! You would be amazed how much you may not know about your local area and can often find new experiences to try that you and your partner will enjoy together.
Find a tea room in a nearby village that you can go and try, discover a long walk that you can take the dogs on together or maybe just go for a wander through a local town and see where the day takes you! Sometimes not meticulously planning an itinerary can lead to some of the best days out together!
Get cosy indoors!
The UK in the spring doesn’t always throw up the best weather conditions, so it isn’t always realistic to be out and about all the time. Pick out some films neither of you have seen before, get some snacks in, grab the duvet and snuggle up on the sofa together and enjoy a cosy afternoon indoors. There’s something wonderful about cosying up to the one you love, whilst the rain rolls down your window!
You could go one step further by cooking a nice meal together. The mundanity of working life can often lead to a very consistent home life routine; one cooks, one washes up etc. Why not plan a luxurious 3-course meal together and spend an afternoon in the kitchen together cooking it? Not only is it a great opportunity for you to both spend more time together, but you also (hopefully) get a lovely meal to go with it! Get the candles out, buy a fancy bottle of wine and give yourself the restaurant experience in the comfort of your home.
Hopefully this will give you a little food for thought and some ideas for ways you can spend more time with your partner this spring.
