If your hands are a little dry, sensitive, sore or cracked from overwashing, this hydrating hand treatment will instantly soothe and hydrate them.
If you have dry hands at the best of times, they won’t appreciate the extra hand washing and sanitising for sure. However, in addition to our hand scrub, treat them to a hydrating hand treatment once a week, or any time they could do with a boost of hydration. It’s simple to do and is a nice relaxing treatment. You can put your feet up for 20 minutes and can catch up on your favourite show whilst it gets to work.
You’ll need:
- Cuticle cream or oil
- Hand cream
- Cling film
- Warm towel

How to:
First up, create a warm towel: You can do this by placing it on a hot radiator to warm through about 20 minutes before your treatment, placing it in the tumble dryer for about 10 minutes to warm it through, or you can slightly dampen the towel and place in the microwave for 30 seconds.
- You need a piece of cling film for each hand. Hover the hand over the first piece and apply cuticle cream around the nail and nail beds. Then slather the hand cream all over the hand with an extra dollop in the areas that are most dry or cracked.
- Wrap the cling film around the hand and repeat steps 2 for the other.
- Wrap your hands around the warm towel and put your feet up for 20 minutes
- Once you’ve allowed the cream to penetrate the skin, remove the cling film and massage the excess cream into your hands and marvel at the results.
How does it work?
The cling film helps lock the moisture around the hands for it to get to work, and the hot towel helps to open the pores to allow the moisturiser to get to work at a deeper level. The heat also helps to soften and smooth the skin.
Top tip:
If you don’t have cuticle cream or oil, substitute it for olive oil! It’s just as effective.
