In a hectic world it’s becoming harder to distinguish when we’re experiencing stress and tension. More so, the difficulty is in finding a suitable way to instil a sense calm relatively quickly. Whether you need some help to relieve stress in the moment or to help you unwind after a manic day, we share some of our favourite products to help you achieve just that.

We’ve found spa in a bottle. Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish not only removes all traces of makeup to leave your skin feeling super soft and smooth but it’s smell, texture and the process of using it, brings the experiencing of removing your makeup to a whole new level. The combination of eucalyptus, rosemary and chamomile is intoxicating; the moment you apply this luxurious, creamy, moisturising cleanser to your face you feel instantly soothed. The process of removing the cleanser with the hot cloth feels rewarding and enjoyable and the simple, quick process leaves you feeling ready for sleep.

Stress-Fix-ConcentrateOne to have on standby at the office or to carry in your bag is the Aveda stress-fix concentrate. If you feel a headache coming on, feeling like you’ve got eyestrain or just feeling a little tense, apply this magic combination of french lavender, lavandin and clary sage directly onto pulse points. Once applied, take three deep breaths and you’ll instantly feel better and more at ease.

The wind-down before bed helps to prepare your body for a good night’s sleep. Plum and Ashby’s Green Fig and Lavender body lotion has a dual benefit. The scent is instantly calming and as you massage it into your skin (we use it for hands and feet) you feel at ease, relaxed and ready for sleep. It’s added bonus is skin will feel silky and smooth right up until the next morning.

Scent distributors with essential oils such a lavender, jasmine, rosemary and chamomile can prove to be effective at aiding relaxation. Candles in particular are most beneficial for this because we can light it at times of need rather than be over exposed to the calming properties, giving us no added benefit, like with plug-ins and diffusers. Haney’s tranquillity candle in particular is a favourite to aid, well, tranquillity and a sense of calm. A homemade, organic creation made from plant sources and lavender, geranium and ylang ylang essential oils is a heavenly combination that we’d recommend winding down with around you in the bath or with a book in bed and instantly feel your troubles and stresses melt away into the abyss.
