Last week I was chatting to a friend that is struggling with the British Winter weather (having only lived in hot places before). It’s no wonder really when for weeks now we’ve had no sunshine and the dreary winter weather has started early.

Christmas helps to make this dreary weather seem a little brighter; with glistening bright light, festivities aplenty and seasonal glitz and glam. But come January 6th, all of that will be gone.

What I tried to reassure her is that the best way to look at a British winter, is it is a time for a little self-care.

Make the most of the dark and bleak weather by cosying up and catching up on a good movie, TV series or book; pamper yourself with some masks and treatments and enjoy some homecooked wholesome and hearty food. Ensure you get plenty of rest, keep yourself hydrated and increase your intake of leafy vegetables and fruits packed with vitamins.

So let’s embrace winter and take a little time for some R&R. Treat yourself to new loungewear sets so you can enjoy your rest time in absolute comfort. Indulge with some face masks and let your skin take a breather from the wintry weather and drying central heating.

Slippers are an absolute essential this time of year; trade heels following Christmas for some cute and comfy mule slippers, which will look super cute with this Snowflake two-piece.

For this time of year, hunker down with a hot chocolate and enjoy classic chick flicks like The Holiday, Bridget Jones and Leap Year.

We can think of no better way to start the New Year, can you?
