Winter can be quite a difficult season. As well as being the season we all love to indulge (and rightly so, we’re all entitled to swap some fruit for gingerbread men this time of year), the festive season also brings dark days and harsh weather. Meaning we need to do a little bit more to feel confident during all the office parties and family dos heading our way.
Here’s just a few tips and tricks to help you do just that:
Get a new scent
Whether it’s for a Christmas present or you just can’t wait and want to treat yourself, you should definitely get yourself a new scent this time of year. It’s the perfect way to gather compliments in the office, which will effectively give your ego that little boost it needs during the dull months.
Invest in the perfect party outfit
We all know that Christmas comes at a price. From presents to travel, you can easily rack up a sizeable bill trying to please everybody you love this season. But during all the shopping madness picking out patterned ties and fluffy slippers, don’t feel guilty for picking yourself up something great to wear to the office party. I mean, why should spend all your cash on everyone else and settle for something mediocre for yourself? Forget that and instead be sure to splurge a little and grab that sparkly number you’ve been eyeing up for weeks. Go on, you deserve it.
Exfoliate and moisturise
It’s a weird thing really, that exfoliating and moisturising your skin can make you feel so great, but it’s so true. So why not use this simple confident booster when you need it most? It’s such an easy thing to do – and to be honest, you’re probably already doing it – but if you’re not, then spend the extra 20 minutes getting ready and you’ll feel the benefits before you even leave the house.
Also, if you’re anything like me and feel your best with a tan, then what’s to say you can’t bring out the mousse this season and add a little glow when you need it most? Get your tan on if that’s what makes you feel your best.
Drink some healthy herbal teas
Admittedly, herbal teas are my solution to anything. They’re just so delicious and have so many great properties to soak up, so whenever I can suggest them, I do.
But seriously, if you need to get rid of an indulgence bloat fast, break out a fennel and peppermint tea after you eat and see all your bloating worries disappear. I love this blend as it let’s me enjoy pizza for lunch and still feel great when out for cocktails after work.
Get a new hair cut ready for the new year
I know the phrase ‘new hair, new me’ is the biggest cliché on the planet, but sometimes it’s just what you need. There is no better time to get a new look than during the festive season. So cut those locks or take the plunge with a new shade, and see what it does for your confidence within moments.
Do plenty of facials to help clear up any dry skin
Colder months are the perfect months for pamper session upon pamper session, given that they’re the worst months for your skin. So don’t be shy when it comes to face masks, peels and scrubs over the next few months. Trust me, not only will your confidence thank you, but your skin will too.
Get festive ready with a manicure and/or pedicure
