Autumn Winter Fashion Trends

The looks that we saw commonly on the catwalk that you can convert for your wardrobe. Check out our guide to the Autumn Winter fashion trends.

Quintessentially British

Even on a day off the Queen looks exquisite and that’s the influence for this seasons trend.  Think tweed, plaid and checks as prominent textures and patterns for this trend. Pair with wellington boots, crisp white shirts, Barbour wax jackets for that quintessentially British feel.

However, we’ve equally seen skirt and jacket coordinated combos as seen a la Cher from Clueless. Pair with platform shoes, knee high socks and crisp cotton tee to channel her vibes. Or if you’re more Tai, then a rock t-shirt or blouse and vest combo would be just as chic. Totally.

Be Bold!

Vibrancy isn’t a term usually associated with the autumn winter season, but this year is like no other. The catwalk was awash with bright bold colours, shoulder pads, puffy sleeves and low-cut double-breasted blazers and tops channelling the vibrant 80s.

Colour blocking is the way to pull off this look with the beauty being you can be as bold and bright as you like. Go for combos like the jacket and skirt above or bold tops or trousers with a dark alternative to help you bring out the colour in a way that you feel comfortable with.

Bohemian

Those bohemian vibes aren’t going anywhere. For this trend you want to channel the spirit of the culture; artistic, laidback, unconventional. The autumn, winter season is a brilliant time to experiment with clothing; try floral prints, layers, sheen fabrics, sheepskin (combining our love of the 70s too!) coats and frills.

Dark Florals

We’re always sad to see floral print goes come autumn, winter but this year we’re so happy to say it’s not going anywhere. There is a slight differentiation between the seasons though for floral print. What you’ll see in the high street stores this season are dark florals, and any floral print on a dark background is high on trend. If you’ve got a wedding to go to, we love this dress from Warehouse.

Unleash your inner tiger

Leopard, zebra or snake for that matter because animal print is back and bolder than ever. If the mood takes you, head to toe is a big influence this year with coats, boots, tops, jumper and trousers and skirts all making an appearance in the shop.

Sleek Silver- Gold be gone

Silver is overtaking gold in the colour for the party season. It’s luminescent, glittery, sheen, foiled and we love it! It can be a little daunting to play with, especially if you’re accustomed to the warmth of gold but experiment and build up to that dress for the Christmas party.
