We’ve already discussed Autumn/Winter fashion trends but what about accessories? For our staples in the Autumn wardrobe, our scarves, bags and boots are just as important. Somewhat against trends, we’ve selected our favourites from the high street to share with you- we’ve gone for practical, yet stylish!
We’ve fallen a bit in love with Paul’s Boutique bags at the moment. If you’ve been dreaming of a particular style, or you’ve got a particular purpose in mind, it’s guaranteed they’ve got it for you. With plenty of choice of colour too.
For functionality, the Rosa Backpack is our go-to. We love the statement LDN and simple and clean lines of the bag itself, as well as the gorgeous watermelon red interior. For any rainy day or Autumn adventure, a backpack is a must have.
Bethany may be sweet in name, but we love her ferocity. She’s quite conventional, perfect for everyday use; it’s sizable that it’ll carry your workload, personal effects and anything you need to take along for your day, but what we love most, is the jagged flames going up her side- the Bethany bag means business.
For everything cute and compact, for special occasions and parties, the mermaid style, Anita Cross-body is what we’re loving. Especially in the dusty pink. Inject your personality and little bit of colour onto an otherwise darken winters day (or night!).
Before we forget! You can actually win a Paul’s Boutique bag of choice with us at the moment! Be sure to head to our competitions page to find out how to enter and what you can win.
Not only do scarves help to keep you warm in the colder months- with that little extra protection around you neck; but you can use them to inject colour into your outfit, breakup colour blocking if you’re prone to wearing all over black in the Autumn/Winter months, and therefore help brighten your complexion. Of course, there are many different variations of scarves out there, so we’ve picked our favourite classic scarf, favourite head scarf (very on trend right now) and cape to full equip you this season.
A woven scarf is an Autumn and Winter essential. This light grey scarf, although seemingly plain, will help to dress up any outfit, keep you warm and quite simply, it’s a classic.
Dress up your pony or chignon with a satin scarf. We love this H&M one for a number of reasons, especially because it is on trend in every way: injection of colour, check; florals on dark background, check; bohemian? Check!
Everyone remembers the monogrammed Burberry capes that captured the world and our hearts in 2014. We still can’t get over them. Since then, capes and blankets have been massive every Autumn and Winter. And why wouldn’t we love them? They’re practical, comfortable, cosy and there’s loads of choice in colours, patterns and budgets. Conveniently, we found a customisable cape that unmistakably resembles the iconic Burberry ones, at under £50!
Bye, bye flip-flops, bye, bye sandals. The change in season is anything to be sad about when you get to dress your feet in cute socks and even cuter boots. From rainy days to knee-high, our favourite boots are all you’re going to need for the next two seasons.
Hunter Wellingtons are quintessentially British and that’s what we love most about them. But we have to say, we’re even more smitten with the Chelsea Ankle Booties. They feel even more practical, more timeless and ultimately more convenient; and with a Hunter stamp of approval, you know you’ve got quality too.
A suede boot may not be completely practical for the Autumn/Winter weather, but the Steve Madden Whiskey boots can handle a little toughening. They’ll go with everything you own and with its almond toe, curvature around the ankle and slight heel, it’ll even elongate your legs.
Knee-high boots are another seasonal essential. But finding a pair that is multi-functional, timeless and comfortable, that is the challenge. We think we’ve found the solution in these simply titled ‘Long Zip Boots’ from next; plus, they’re a real purse saver compared to most knee-high boots on the market.
