In just a few weeks’ time we’ll begin to enter the Autumn season. Although we’ve had an uncharacteristically hot summer, you may already have started to notice a change to the season; the nights are drawing in earlier, leaves are starting to change on some of the trees and the breeze and rain when it comes has quite a chill to it.

That’s the thing with a change in season, it doesn’t go from being a scorching summer to cold Winter immediately, it’s incremental.

As such, you’ll want wardrobe staples that can help you transition from season to season. That’s what we love about Elvi’s Autumn/Winter collection.

We’ll show you how to transition from season to season, allowing you to go from warm to cool in colours, patters and shapes that define your figure, give your look personality and carry the look of the season, whether you’re still in the throes of summer or heading into the depths of winter.

Floral Tiered Hem Slip Dress

This chic, floral slip dress is a gorgeous summer staple that would look great with leather sandals or flip flops for an easy day-to-day look, perfect for the office or day out shopping.

Team with wedged espadrilles and a bolero cardigan/jacket for a dressy evening or wedding guest look.

For transitioning into the autumn season, pair with ankle boots as shown and a midi length cardigan to give you a little bit of warmth.  For particularly colder days, nude tights will be fitting for this look.

When heading into the winter season, don’t think this needs to be stored until next year, team with thick black tights, black ankle boots and an oversized sweatshirt, tucked to your waist. You’ll be kept warm but still be able to show off the pretty, layered skirt.

Culottes

We love the printed culottes in the same pattern and colour. With culottes, don’t think that once summer starts to fade that they’re no good for the autumn season; in fact, they’re just as stylish as a winter staple.

Culottes look great paired with trainers so don’t feel they only need to be worn with open toe shoes or sandals. As the colder weather starts to set in, team them with a crisp white pair of sneakers for a relaxed day look, ankle boots if you’re looking for a little extra height and when winter starts to creep in, they’ll look just as sophisticated with a pair of knee highs in black.

As for the top half, silk or polyester blend vests in navy, grey or white would pair well with these. As it gets colder, long sleeved collarless blouses, turtle necks both sleeved and sleeveless in the same colours would look great.

Ditsy Printed Tea Dress

Bohemian, floral tones will continue into the autumn/winter season. The romantic, feminine, floral Ditsy Tea Dress is one to take with you. It’s a dress that can be dressed up or down depending on your mood. Pair with trainers and long utility coat in gunmetal or green for a dressed down look; a chocolate sandal and pashmina for a wedding guest day/night style and for the colder days, pair with a leather/suedette cropped jacket or long woollen cardigan, tights and ankle boots to see you through autumn and winter as well.

Boddice Wrap Dress in Chocolate

This dress is a fantastic dress for the upcoming season. We love the femininity of it. We picture ourselves on a shopping trip in New York or as a dress to help us feel powerful and confident in, at work or a night out to the theatre. It would look great with a long woolen pea, double breasted or trench coat to see us through the seasons.

Layer with tights, a slip dress and boots for a little extra warmth if needed.
