With the world slowly opening up after lockdown, many people are thinking about heading out and starting to travel once more. So long as we do this safely, and with our minds focused on keeping ourselves and others safe, there is no reason why we can’t start globetrotting again! Here are some of the best places you can visit right now:

London

London

The capital of the UK is always a tourist hotspot, and for good reason! The stages of the West End might not be fully open yet, but you can still wander around the many parks and shops in this beautiful city. You can also still swing by some of the most popular sites like Buckingham Palace and take a walk along the Thames.

London is an incredibly diverse city, and there is lots for you to see and do. Head to one of the outer neighbourhoods away from the city centre to live more like a Londoner. There are lots of Airbnbs and small hotels that you could try. Safestore have good luggage storage options around London       too, so you should have no trouble ditching the suitcase while you explore!

Corfu

Corfu

Greece was one of the countries least affected by COVID-19, so you can feel safe and secure when you visit. One place you could try is Corfu. Corfu is full of beautiful sights and plenty of things to do.

Want to chill out on the beach? There are tons of hotels to suit all. From luxury adult-only boutique hotels, to family-friendly resorts with onsite waterparks and beachfront access, you will be able to find something that suits your budget and travel plans. Throw in the chance to swing by the beautiful Old Town, and you have the perfect holiday destination waiting for you!

The Azores

The Azores Islands

The Azores are a group of islands which are one of Portugal’s autonomous regions. If you don’t fancy the Algarve or Madeira, the Azores could be another brilliant option to explore. There are plenty of places to stay all over the islands, from private villas to family-run hotels.

If you like hiking, food, flora, and fauna, there will be plenty for you here! With crystal blue waters and lots of food to snap up, you will have so many images at your disposal that you won’t know which one to post first!

How to travel safely

Though these are three locations that have now opened up for tourists, you still need to make sure that you are prepared for travel. The virus has not been 100% eliminated, and you need to take the right precautions to keep yourself safe.

The first thing you should do is make sure that you have several masks with you wherever you go. You will need them for flights and public transport, and it is good to have several to spare. Make sure you stock up on hand sanitiser too, so you can give your hands a quick clean at several points around the airport and on your travels. If you are staying in a hotel or taking a tour, consider tipping extra to thank the staff for their hard work during these times.

Travel is one of the most wonderful things we can do, but it is also something that many take for granted. When you are snapping pictures for your Instagram feed, just make sure that you are mindful of those around you. No matter where you go, stay aware of your surroundings and obey governments restrictions when you return home!
