If you’re like me, you’ve already starting thinking about Christmas- not just the buying of gifts, but all the events on the lead up to. There is so much to see any do; panto, shopping events, Christmas parties, functions with friends and family, Christmas light events etc. But the one we should be thinking about RIGHT NOW, is New Year. As a ticketed event, it means there is limited availability, so scouting the event of the year (and to ensure a best start to the new) early is a must! Below is an overview of Weston super Mare’s premier New Year events and an idea of some of outfits to get heads turning. Make 2015 your year!

The Great Gatsby Ball, The Winter Gardens, Weston super Mare, £45pp

Your ticket price includes a drinks reception and four course sit down meal. You’ll also have some fantastic entertainment with casino tables, resident DJ and the amazing Rat Pack Tribute Singer, Dean Ager; you just have to check out his video to know it is not to be missed! But what to wear? Thankfully Little Black Dress have us covered with the gorgeous collection, attributed to the epitome of glamour, Coco Chanel. If you’re looking for more inspiration on flapper girl style, than look no further than the 2013 film, where Carey Mulligen oozes 1920’s glamour.

Glitter Ball, Grand PierPier, Weston super Mare, £49.50

We’ve had tickets to the Pier’s New Years event for the past two years. Why not seAsos Necklacecure a table for 10 to say goodbye to the old and welcome in the new with friends and family alike. You’ll get to enjoy a lavish drinks receptLipsy via nextion, a five course sit down meal and enjoy music from the decades with the pier’s very own, in house band.

What to wear? Well, as a glitter ball, there HAS to be some glitz; but that doesn’t necessarily mean dresses! With the expense of Christmas eating up most of our December pay checks and the long month of January ahead, why not accessorize your LBD (little black dress) or your favourite cocktail dress you’ve only been able to wear once with these gorgeousDeco earringsStella and Dot Deco earrings (£35) and/or statement necklace by Paper Dolls, available on ASOS (£15) . Though if like me, any excuse to get a new outfit is a good excuse, this gorgeous, satin like dress from Lipsy (available at Next.co.uk for £60) is the perfect dress for such an occasion. As a bonus, it’s stretchy fabric composition means you’ll feel comfortable and look great all night long.
